Studio Policy

Studio year. The studio year runs from September 1 through June 30. There are no lessons on the day of Syllabus exam. Lessons during the months of July and August and during holidays are offered depending on teacher's availability. Students are encouraged to continue lessons during the summer.

Tuition fees and lesson duration. Fees depend on the duration of the lesson. Young students (up to 5-6 years old) may take 30 mins lessons. Intermediate students have option of 45 mins or 60 mins lessons. Upper level students are required to take 60 mins lessons.

Studio fee. Studio fee is assessed each year and is due in September.

Payment. Lesson fees for the month are due in advance and must be paid on or before the first lesson of the month. If your check bounces, you will be responsible for the bank charges for the returned checks. I bill by the lesson. Some months will have fewer or greater than four lessons; please adjust your payment accordingly.

Absences. You are expected to pay for each lesson during the studio year because this time is reserved specifically for you. If a student misses lesson(s) due to a family vacation, a soccer game, car trouble, heavy homework, dentist appointment or any other similar reason during the studio year, a payment in full for the missed lesson(s) is expected, and no refund or make-up will be given. The only exception from this rule is the case of illness. Teacher absences will be credited to the next month.

Rescheduling of the lessons. Due to my extremely tight schedule, I have very little or no flexibility with rescheduling your lesson. Rescheduling in the case of illness will be made on the basis of availability.

Tardiness. The student has a time reserved in my schedule. In order that other students be given the same consideration, I cannot allow a lesson to extend into the time period reserved for the next student. Therefore, if the student arrives late, this lesson will end at the usual time without adjustment in fee.

Safety rules. Please supervise your child to the door and pick him/her up on time. I welcome parental attendance at the lessons if the student does not object.

Video Recording. Parents are allowed to take video of the lessons for their own private use. It is not allowed to post them on the internet, such as youtube or social networks.

Recitals. I hold two annual recitals, usually in December/January and in June. These recitals are very important for the students, please plan to attend them.

Materials. Please purchase all books and materials promptly, as delay interrupts the student’s progress, particularly if your child takes the Syllabus evaluation.
